Well. I finally got to reinstall Compiz yesterday. GUESS WHAT!
Let me say it again, just to make sure you follow me:
Sigh.
At any rate, I have a mostly working version of Compiz on my machine, everything is running well... I just can't change any settings due to my unknowingly using the most up to date Compiz-core. Tonight or tomorrow I will downgrade and hope for the best. Trevino's repo that I set up to get updates from has already updated to the most recent Compiz-core, so I'll have to do it manually.
Beyond that, basic untweaked Compiz is still very cool.
As soon as I get the proper version installed, I will finally get a review posted. Apologies for the wait.
Also: Progress is being made on the IE6 front. The footer bar still has issues, but I've got ideas. For you who still use IE6... though I can't explain why you would... you will finally get to see this site in most of it's glory.
That or you can get a real browser.
IMPORTANT:
If you are currently using CCSM, LibCompizConfig, CCP and the like to configure compiz, it is absolutely essential that you do not update the compiz-core package for a while, because you will lose the ability to set any options. The reason for this is because of a re-write of action handling in core, as well as a re-write of the gconf plugin.

1 Comments:
Yeah, why are people still using IE6? I really wish more people would use Firefox... Web development would be much easier if everyone used a browser that wasn't loaded with bugs! At the very least, I hope people upgrade to IE7 since it has better conformance to the web standards.
